Program sustainability is important. At TMS, we think Program GROWTH is even more important! As such, we're continuously working to ensure our STEM Program is not only sustaining, but growing! We're proud of our decade of sustained Program quality that includes dynamic PBLs that follow our Golden Rule, engaged community partners that provide resources (financially and materially), content knowledge support for PBL development, and real-world experiences for our students!
Administratively, we understand the importance of properly staffing our Program...and our entire school...to meet the sustainability and growth goals we set. As such, we've hired an instructional coach for science who is going to directly support science teachers with science and mathematics integration, and an ELL Coordinator to directly support ELA teachers with ELA integration. We've also just onboarded for a unique new position that will provide our Cohort students the opportunity to master interdisciplinary standards in our TMS Garden. As an intentional side benefit, this will allow for whole-school exposure to PBLs and our TMS Innovation Lab!
Additionally, with the training received, we will be able to implement the investigative research projects that are required by IB. With these IB requirements and the support of a full time IB coordinator, TMS STEM students will complete integrated investigative projects year to year. Furthermore, we have established a process for students to complete their IB community project through which STEM students solve a community problem by using scientific and technical innovation.

Speaking of GROWTH, TMS STEM students have consistently performed significantly above the district average!
